5.5 Friday - Sausage Casserole

Sausage casserole


12 chipolata sausages

1 onion, chopped
½ tin chopped tomatoes
½ celeriac, sliced
1 carrot, chopped
3 mushrooms, chopped or sliced
Clove garlic, chopped
Thyme, sprig
1 sp seasoning
½ glass wine
2 sp cous cous


Brown the sausages in a frying pan. Add the onions, garlic and brown.

In an oven proof dish, place the carrots, potatoes, celeriac, thyme, seasoning and wine. Then spoon the sausages, onion and garlic over the top. Top up with a little hot water to make sure that the vegetables will cook. Place in the oven and cook for an hour.

Before serving, check that the liquid is thick enough – if not, add a cornflour mixture and/or the cous cous and put back into the oven for five minutes.

Prepare the vegetables and serve.
